Developer-cum-publisher Blizzard Entertainment will not be appearing at the annual entertainment expo for the fifth year running.

Blizzard has also announced it will not be holding its annual BlizzcCon event in 2012 either.

The absence of a trade stand at the Electronic Entertainment Expo next month will leave fans hoping for a glimpse of the upcoming Starcraft 2 expansions Heart of the Swarm & Legacy of the Void a little disappointed. It will also mean any upcoming news on the in-development MMO Titan will also be kept under wraps until late 2012.

Blizzard have since confirmed they will have a presence at the German expo GamesCon in August.

The WOW developer isn’t the first, or likely the last to shun the largest gaming expo in the West. GTA and Red Dead developer Rockstar has consistently no-showed the event in recent years opting to make most of their announcements in the weeks before the event or at smaller trade-shows like the Spike VGA’s or GDC.

The annual Electronic Entertainment Expo show will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center from June 5 to June 7.
